Target diapers what do u think?

my family insists on buying everything name brand but from a previous thread i noticed lots of good reviews for target brand diapers.

i was just wondering what you thought of the target brand specifically?

are they as good as a pamper/huggie/luv ?

Re: Target diapers what do u think?

  • I don't have any advice on the quality of the diapers, but just wanted to suggest you might want to check on the baby boards, since I'm sure those ladies have gone through a lot of diapers!!

I use them and I love them!  They're not as soft as Pampers but they do the job.  Huggies don't really fit my DS quite right.

I personally don't like Luvs at all.

  • I love love love up&up diapers! We started using them when he was about a year old and have no problems. I used pampers until that point. I think I'll probably use swaddlers again for the new baby because they are nice and soft but once pampers size up to cruisers or baby dry the target ones are just as good for half the price!
  • Would I say they are "as good as" Pampers or Huggies? Nope, I wouldn't. That being said, when we use disposables, we use Target diapers. They are soft, we've never had any problems with leaking or blow-outs. You do tend to smell urine faster in them, but I change DS pretty frequently anyway, so that's not a problem. The thing about Target diapers is the cost difference. Pampers and Huggies are a little better (mostly in the cut/odor absorbency), but they are totally not worth the cost increase compared to Target diapers.

  • They aren't as soft as Pampers (and they don't have the perfume) but they get the job done and are significantly less than name brands. We also buy Huggies and I'd say they're comparable in quality...and still cost less.
  • Love them! Cannot beat the price... However, they don't work for everyone - just like other diapers.

With #1 I started off with Pampers Swaddlers because they are so soft and then switched when she was in size 2 or 3's. I will probably do the same this time around. However, I wonder if the Target NB or Size 1's are soft like the Pampers?

  • We have been using Up&UP for the last 9 months.  Never once have we had an issue.  They are much cheaper than the other diapers we've tried and work better than most of them.  They are thin like pampers and soft like huggies.  Perfect diaper if you ask me. :)  We plan on using them with the new baby right away!

this exactly.  i will use pampers swaddlers on baby #2 until s/he gets into size 3s and then i will go to up&up.  they're great and WAY cheaper.

  • We currently use the Target brand with DD and love them!  The new pampers sag really badly when they get wet.  The target brand are also cheaper!

I agree! Will use pampers swaddlers until this LO gets older.  Unless of course these don't fit new baby as well as they fit DS.

  • ALL of my friends with children LOVE the Target diapers. They told me that they are the way to go.

We used Target/ Walmart/ Wegmans diapers whenever they were the convenient grab.We used name brands when DS was really little but after that I'd get them if I was at the store and thought we'd need more.  I didn't have any problems with any of the store brands.
  • O couldn't wear Pampers because she was very rashy.  I used Huggies Surpreme until I "discovered" the up&up brand.  I loved them.  I never had a problem at all, not a leak or a blowout.  As someone mentioned, you can smell the urine a little sooner, but I usually changed her before that happened.
  • With this LO,  the plan is that we will use either Huggies or Pampers swaddler-types for size 1-3, then move to Target brand like we did with DD.  I really like them on DD now, and I love the price, but I also really liked the name brand for the littlest diapers.  It doesn't seem like such a rip off when you're getting over 100 in the box!

  • I haven't read any of the other replies, so maybe this was said, but they're all we've used since DD was young. They're great, she's never had any problems with them, but since she was maybe 9 months or so, we've had to use separate overnight diapers, usually the Huggies Overnights, because she pees so much overnight, she would soak through a Target diaper in no time.

  • I also want to add that we use huggies overnights because L would pee thru the pampers at night. We ran out of overnights a while back and used the target ones for a few nights before getting more and there was no leaks! So in that respect they are better than pampers for long periods.
  • I wish I liked them. I am the most frugal person you'll come across, but I hated Target diapers. Bought one pack and that's it. They seemed too stiff and cheap, plus he leaked out of them more than he has in any other brand. I am a Luvs gal. I guess if price were no object, my order would be Pampers, Huggies, then Luvs. But money matters, and Luvs are almost as good as the others.

Everyone has different experiences with different diapers. That's why I have tried them all!

This!!! I did love Pampers Swaddlers for size 1 (DS never wore NB!), then we had MAJOR allergy issues to pampers, huggies, luvs, you name it... Absolutely no probs with Target brand. I also like Huggies pure & natural FWIW!

  • We've used Pampers, Huggies, Target, Walmart and no-names.

For quality and price together, Target is the best. They're just as good as Pampers (minus the whole rash fiasco), they don't leak and they're cute.

The only downside, they don't have the size printed on them, which sucks if you have more than 1 in diapers.

  • We've used them for the past year. I love them. I'm going to use Huggies pure and natural for the first couple of months but then switching to Up and Up.
