I've never used the miracle blanket but I love love loved the swaddle me!! I didn't use it for a few weeks but I won't make that mistake again- it was a lifesaver!! Either way, as long as there is velcro to keep it closed it should be good
I have a hand me down miracle blanket, but never used it with my DD. I always used the Sawddle me. I love it. It made life a lot easier. I have heard good things about the Miracle Blanket, the swaddle me just seemed so much easier to use.
We had both for DD. What I loved about the miracle blanket is that it has no velcro so there was no chance of it ruining other clothes in the laundry. But eventually DD would get her arms out of it and we had to use the swaddle me (which I also really liked) until we transitioned to those Carter's sleep sacks.
I much preferred the Miracle Blanket. It was easier to mold to the baby, any size, without depending on velcro to help do that. We lived by it, and will again this time!

Pre-e w/DD #1 -- now age four!
GD and PIH w/DD#2 -- now age two!
GD and unexplained third trimester bleeding with baby # 3 -- due Feb 27!
Miracle blanket definitely! The swaddle me is too loose and not structured enough; DD was able to break out of it much easier, which led to her waking up more often. HTH!
I had both and in the beginning, I used the swaddle me more- it was easier to use.It was very heavy though and I found the hospital blankets were better to swaddle him - so take them from the hospital!
However, I think it depends upon the baby. My son hated having his arms swaddled- no matter what we did, he would get his arms out. We ended up using the zip up blankets where they could have their arms free but the legs were inside the zip up blanket- sorry i forgot what it's called.
So really, you have to try out different things and see what your baby likes.

My husband could wrap the baby "like a burrito "(as they like to put it in daddy bootcamp) with a plain ole blanket. Me, I needed the Miracle Blanket and now give them to everyone as gifts. It holds the baby snuggle and is easy to use. Never had any experience with Swaddle Me.
The Miracle Blanket is truley a miracle in my opinion. I bought it for DS when he was 2 weeks old and it made a huge difference. At the time, you can only buy them in specialty boutiques but now you can get them at Babies R US. There is a reason for that!
