1st Trimester

pain on one side of stomach

I have a dull pain, like a pulled muscle, located on my left side of my belly, down ajdacent to the hip bone.  It has been there for 2 days now.  when I sit it is fine, but when I walk I can feel like a straining feeling....

Thoughts?  I think i might call the Dr, but then I think that is paranoid.

I am ~10 weeks. maybe this is just things stretching and growing?  what makes me nervous is the localized spot.

Re: pain on one side of stomach

  • Sounds like round ligament pain to me.  It'll come and go throughout your pregnancy.  It's nothing to be worried about; just a sign that baby is growing!

  • Thanks, I am figuring since I don't have any other concerns or pains right now.
  • Are you constipated?  Because that is the side of your abdomen where the descending colon is located, and where you would be feeling pain if you aren't staying regular.

  • I've had some cramping and pain on one side and my OB checked to see if it could be a corpus luteum cyst.  It wasn't, so she said it's probably just round ligament pain.

  • I get the same thing in the same spot from time to time, it's just RLP. I just slow down when I walk and rub the spot that hurts.
