So. RE appointment today was eh.
Met with the doctor, and that part was fine. All our RLP and other bw results were back, and everything is completely normal and fine (sigh, not sure how I feel about this) except my sugar levels, which indicate that I do have PCOS (which we already knew). The doctor wants me to take another two weeks of BCP (bigger sigh, I hate BCP they make me feel crazy - but I'll do what I need to do) to give me enough time to start Metformin and get it into my system, to give my body a chance to calm itself down from the PCOS craziness. Then he said we'll move directly on to a clomid cycle, without waiting for me to get a period. Cool - I can wait two weeks (although I was hoping to start the clomid cycle today, I suppose this is the best case "runner up" scenario).
So, I went out to the front desk to check out and make the appointment for the start of the next cycle. Everyone gets totally confused, and tries to tell me to call back on CD 1, and we'll schedule the appointment then. Um, no... the doctor clearly said to take 14 pills and then have an appointment and start the cycle - no period necessary.
One nurse takes DH and I aside, and tries to (condescendingly!) explain to us how the BCP works, why I need to get a period, yadda yadda - despite us telling her over and over the doctor said I don't have to wait for my period (it's doubtful that my period would show up anyway, stupid thing rarely makes an appearance). She flat out doesn't believe us - and I'm about to walk out and just call back to make the appointment with someone on the phone later, when my doctor walked by. She was like "Doctor! They have to wait to get a period before starting monitoring/clomid, right?" and he was like "Uh, no - I told them that. She needs to take two weeks of pills and then come back. Make her an appointment for two weeks from now."
In YO FACE stupid nurse.
Anyway - I feel like they tried to give me the complete run around, and push me into their "typical scenario" - something in which I don't fit at all (which makes me wonder, how many people are getting pushed around like that?!?). I'm proud of myself for holding my ground ![]()
So... the plan is: 14 days of BCP (and you'd better believe I'm going to count each one down... stupid BCP!), monitoring appointment and 5 days of clomid, monitoring appointment, ovidrel trigger (get ready for another post about this - didn't discuss ovidrel at all with the doctor and I've got lots of questions!). I'm good with that.
Re: Back from my RE appointment... and hey, I'm a good listener and NOT an idiot! >:O
Good to know that your at least your ears are working right! Stupid nurse.
I can probably answer most of your Ovidrel questions...after 6 times I'm unfortunately kind of an expert. GL with everything! I hope this new plan works for you.
I hate when the staff is so dumb and doesn't listen. ugh.
sounds like a good plan and a new step for you! good luck!
Take that stupid nurse!
I hope the BCP is kind to you, and that this is the plan that's going to make it happen for you guys.
I'm sorry your new was a pain in the ass. I am glad that you have a plan and that you got good test results. It's hard not have answers, but great that all is okay. I hope the plan works!

Glad you have a plan- hope it does the trick.
I would also like to reward you with:
I like this plan! Good for you for staying your ground with the nurse - I totally agree with you - so many people can't/won't do this and get pushed around.
Also, LOL at "In YO FACE" I almost died.
I hope the next 14 days fly by without any crazy bcp side effects.
Glad the dr walked by to put the nurse in her place. I hate when the nurse tries to tell me something different and say I must have heard incorrectly.
