It's a lovely 98 degrees here in Philly and I'm still PG with no baby in sight. This part of pregnancy really sucks.
My OB said that still 1 cm dilated and the cervix is getting softer. I didn't bother to ask what that even correlates to in terms of effacement but my guess is that it's probably no more than the 50% it was 3 weeks ago. He did say that the head is low and in the anterior postion. He wouldn't give me any guess as to when to expect this baby.
As for the GBS, he said not to worry about trying to get to the hospital any sooner for the antibiotics. I just have to make sure to remind them immediately when I get there that I need them. He said that if my water breaks, I should leave right away because that would increase my chances of the baby being infected.
I decided last night that I'm scheduling an induction for 7/30 if the baby doesn't come on it's own by that point. I can't take another 4 weeks of this crap like I originally planned.
He said see you next week, but maybe sooner. Was that his attempt at humor? As you can tell, I'm back to being mommazilla. (I guess that was my attempt at humor.)
Re: 38 week appt
I think it was just his way of saying you never know when this LO is going to come.
I understand the mommazilla part though. My DH is asking for extra work all the time. He says its because of the money but I truly believe its just to get away from me. I've been a bit crazy lately!
I feel for you on the heat issue! Its incredibly hot here too. I feel like such a slacker mom because Rowen wants to go to the park and play outside and that is the last thing I want to do. I let him play in his pool at 8:00 last night and it was still 90 degrees. If he wants to get in the pool again I will be in there with him. I am going to take him to the playland at the mall today because there is NO WAY I'm going to the park when it is suppose to be 99 out today.
Hang in there, girly!!
And just so you know, even though I hope you don't have to wait that long, 7/30 is a great birthday
Ya know how numbers mean certain things, like 411 is info and 187 is murder? Well, there's a rap song that says "730 means you're crazy" and I have a very good friend with that birthday and she is crazy in the best way possible. She's awesome, funny, full of life, spunky and fiery, all rolled into one!
Just in case you're wondering, it's in the song Ebonics by Big L.
I'm gangsta, I know.

We have a pool in our development, but unfortuately I don't get home from work until about 7 and I think that's what time it closes. I really would love to be done work right now and just be home relaxing in the pool. I should have taken that doctor's note 4 weeks ago for bed rest when I was having back problems!
What about taking a cool bath? I know it might be hard to get in and out of the tub, but, if Brian is there to help you....would that give you some relief? Even if it's only relief for just an hour or two.
At almost 9 weeks, I'm already SO hot all of the time. I don't know how you girls do it.
It's almost over Natalee. ((Hugs))
