  • I think it flows nicely.  Laila is such a cute name!
  • Thanks. I think it's a cute name. We were debating between Laila and Lucy. It was so hard to pick a name b/c SO is  a pain and he doesn't like any names! Our first daughter is named Lexi...so I thought Lexi and Laila sounded better than Lexi and Lucy!

  • I like that name, but I like it spelled the correct way: Leila. "Laila" looks like it should be pronounced like "Lila."

This. I was wondering how you wanted to pronounce it. In hebrew, Laila is pronounced LIE-LUH and means night. Are you pronouncing it LIE-LUH or LAY-LUH ?

  • HA! I wanted to spell it LEILA b/c that's the way I like it spelled....but everyone is pronouncing it LEELA. I want it pronounced LAY-LUH. I guess they are getting confused b/c of the name Sheila? I don't know I don't like the spelling LAYLA. If I can talk SO into Leila that's what it will be. But if not I have to settle with Laila.

I definitely like Lexi and Laila much better.  I knew a girl in HS that spelled her name this way and we pronounced it Lay - luh.

  • I would pronounce it Lay-luh, but I like Lucy so much more.
  • I think it sounds very pretty.

  • Our DD was also going to be Layla or Lucy... We went with Layla :)

ETA: I also preferred the Leila spelling, but I knew her MN was going to be Paige after my aunt and Layla Paige looked best!
