Need a UPMC doctor!

Hey everyone!

We just moved to Pittsburgh and have UPMC insurance. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good doctor that delivers at a UPMC hospital? My old Gyno does routine exams but uses a non UPMC hospital so I'm stuck! Just found out I was pregnant and need to find a doctor! They wouldn't give me any referals or suggestions either :(

I live in Gibsonia, so something close by would be ideal, however if the doc is good and staff friendly, I'm willing to travel!

    Hi! This board isn't very busy, compared to the Nest Pgh board....I know the ladies over there can give you lots of advice.

    UPMC insurance delivers at Magee and Mercy Hospital. I've delivered both my sons at Magee and had good experiences. I see Womancarer Associates - they have offices off the Wexford exit of 79 and at UPMC Passavant. I love Drs. Sommer and Chesin specifically.

    You can always go to www.upmc.com/findadoc to choose by area as well.

    Advanced OB GYN in butler is great! That's who I go to and you would deliver at Butler Memorial hospital.  Both approve UPMC insurance.  If it is a state type UPMC (for you) then maternal services is the dr you would go do to.

     I delivered my daughter at magee EXCELLENT hospital.  Very clean and very friendly, when it came time for me to have my daughter I got right in an the doctors were tremendous.   When it came time to have my daughter I was torn between my fiance,mother, and my father  who I wanted with me in the room, and the doctor told me I could have all 3 even though I was only aloud 2.  They were excellent it came time to deliver my daughter, (which the labor and delivery rooms are wonderful and the staff is excellent) The doctor I had who I met for the first time when I got into triage room (bc my doctor does not deliver anymore) the doctor was very friendly and warm and i couldn't have been more please with the way my delivery went. I encountered some complications after I had my daughter and they worked there hardest to make sure everything was ok. I hope all my delivery's will be as smooth as the way my first one was.  I really suggest going to Magee You wont regret it
