Instead Cup?

Has anyone used this/have experience with this? I saw it at the store today and bought it instead of tampons.

Just wondering what people think who have used it...

If you are going to go the cup route, the Diva Cup (and other reusable, non-disposable) is the way to go.

I love mine. I have never heard a good story about Insteads except when using for TTC purposes.

Are you thinking of using it instead of a tampon or for TTC purposes? If for TTC, they are an UTI just waiting to happen and also do not up your chances. If for normal AF purposes, I tried ONCE and that's it. It was a bit gross and you have to insert it "just right" or it will leak. It also spills all over your hand when you take it out (gross, I know, but had to throw that out there).

Same thing here I've only heard people using the Instead for TTC purposes. I plan on getting Diva Cup too.

I 100% agree that the Diva Cup is better than the Instead.

NOOOOO not for TTC. I never even thought about using it for that. Heck, I still pee just a few mins after sexto avoid a UTI.

I was thinking about it for AF. I figured I would try it out before buying a reusable one.

Hopefully AF won't show and I will not get to try it for a looooonnnnnggg time!

In order for you to keep all the man-juice in, you need to insert it right after having sex ( while still laying down)...which means you can't jump up to wash your hands first; thus risking a UTI ( if you touch your pee hole ) or other infection from not having clean hands while inserting it. I guess you could always keep some handi-wipes near your bedside to wash your hands and then insert, all while you are still laying down. I don't think it's really worth that hassle, though, as by the time your DH pulls out, all the good sperm is already well on it's way.

Just an FYI, they are nothing at all like the reusable ones (totally different shape and everything) and might turn you off of them for good...just letting you know. I love them so much, I have to give all the info :-)

I'm not arguing, because I agree using any "cup" for TTC purposes is just redamndiculous... but theoretically if you jumped up to pee after putting it in, wouldn't that cut the UTI risk to practically nothing?

True, although you would have still touched/inserted it with dirty hands, so you could end up with a bacterial infection in your vag.
