I wanted to get your opinion on this post of mine.
I ended up ordering one of the crib sheets and the Euro sham - do you think that will help me make a paint color decision (since you've obviously seen all this in person)? ![]()
We're leaning towards a robin's egg blue for the walls - sort of tiffany blue I think - not quite as light as the PBK Harbor Fog. Then the crib will probably be similar to that Stem Green PBK sells (there's a post further down in that post with stem green on a wall). My other question for you is do you think if I got a tan glider it would look okay? Or would you do a brown or yellow? I'm leaning towards tan. I'm hoping the sheets help me make a decision on that, too. I'd love to just get tan since it's neutral and I'll probably have some colorful pillows/stuffed animals to sit on the chair.
thank you!
Re: Kelley (nursery related if anyone else wants to weigh in)
I'll weigh in!
I read your other post -- just to clarify: you'll be painting the crib stem green and the walls will be the robins egg blue color?
If I have that right, I agree w/ you on the tan glider, mostly because it's neutral. Tan would be better than brown - brown might be too dark.
btw, I love the bedding and the look you're going for!
I don't have advice (I'm horrible at picturing things unless someone shows me pictures of all the options), but I lurve the Brooke bedding and totally want to do it if future #2 is a girl even though I've decided that baby bedding is pointless.
i'm actually sending my neighbor the picture of that Stem Green because she painted her boys' room in a green that didn't turn out right. Thanks!
Yes, that's right! I want the glider to be as neutral and unobtrusive as possible, so I'm glad you think tan would work (Jeff is ZERO help naturally). Also, the rest of the furniture will be white/distressed white with vintage-y knobs (like from Anthro).
The room is either going to have white wood blinds or white plantation shutters, so we may not even do curtains/window treatments. Also, I'm probably not going to buy the quilt that matches the bedding (just have the crib sheets, skirt and bumper from the actual collection so it's not too PBK theme-y). I'm not even sure how much we'll use the bumper, but we did use it with Jackson, so I don't want to pass on it completely.
basically kind of mis matchy, but matching - shabby chic-ish, LOL. If I pull it all together, it MIGHT be a miracle.
I'm still a little bit in disbelief that Baby J is old enough to have an opinion on paint color...
I digress.
I think the right shade of orange would look fab, and very "Jackson". He's a spicy one, isn't he?
Ditto! I think the walls would look great robins egg/tiffany blue and am a little jealous. There is a slight bit of aqua in Ellie's big girl room owl bedding from Target, but not enough to justify painting the room that color. Plus eveyone still gives me a hard time for liking it since I used it for my wedding and our bedroom. haha.
Lauren - he SO is. He's full of feisty all the time.
My mom says it's my payback since she claims the one word she'd use to describe me (since birth) is feisty, in both a good and bad way (LOL!).
Mel - I am totally obsessed with the tiffany blue/robin's egg blue right now - I almost did it in our room w/ black/white only. We're doing gray walls instead w/ black and white and some green touches. But it just appeals to me, so much!
shabby-chic-ness / distressed white wood / vintage-y knobs -- I reiterate, I love the look you're going for.
However, don't say the word "anthro" again or I might accidentally buy another dress.
You moved to the right town for that!
Don't I know it - of all towns to have to pick out orange paint in, I think they'll have me covered here. Jeff and I think there is something in the air that makes people obsessed w/ orange. Jackson loooooooves orange - he picked out the shirt he has on in my sig!
Ashley - ANTHRO! Go buy a new dress.
I'm getting my knobs there, actually. I still have a gift card I got from Christmas, so I can't wait to shop for fall clothes - I found out I was pg about 2 weeks after that, so I didn't buy anything.
what restraint! I am impressed.
I, on the other hand, apparently do not practice restraint when I'm in anthro. I'm OK with it.
It's easy to have restraint when you have a beer gut (I mean, pg belly) and nothing looks right!
I'm sure my restraint will be out the window as soon as my c/s is over.
Plus I've certainly shown NO restraint on other things since being pg, so I've just transferred my lack of restraint. Baby clothes, nursery stuff, maternity clothes...I'm bad.
Thanks, Kelley!
I have the same problem on my iPhone - I'm sure there's a way to make paragraphs, but I don't know how to do it!
I'm not sure I want to color match the sham (well bumper), but I want to look at the color matched color - I think the stores will do a sample size - and a few paint chips in colors I like, as well, next to the bedding before I decide!
