Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Frozen grapes rule

DS and I were just outside playing in the baby pool and snacking on some frozen grapes DH popped in the freezer for us. Holy heck, where have I been? Frozen grapes are fab!

I think I shall freeze them all the time.

DS loved them as well.

  • Pop them in your glass of white wine tonight - they're really yummy after soaking in wine!

  • Frozen blueberries are good too! I hate the texture of blueberries, but love the flavor. So I pop them in the freezer and they are delicious!

  • I have never heard of this!

and these are not a choking hazard for toddlers?

I'm don't even give ds regular grapes...they just make me nervous. I usually cut them first.

We BLW so I've always given grapes to DS but halved. Since we were outside I just bit thefrozen grapes in half.

  • Does your one year old eat the whole grape? I still peel and cut up my DD's grapes. Maybe frozen grapes would help her teething. Hmmm.

Peel?? Oh man I can't imagine having to peel grapes. We do usually either cut them in half or just squish them, but sometimes he'll eat a small one whole (he has his molars). If I had to peel them DS would never be eating grapes.

He would if I gave him a whole one. He put two halves in his mouth and went to town. I'm sure they felt good on his gums with those stupid molars.

Ditto - peel? Holy crap, labor intensive.

And I thought cutting into fourths was time-consuming!

  • Yes I do peel the grapes. Tomorrow I will try without! I'm afraid of the skin because my daughter only has three teeth still. :)
  • How the heck do you peel a grape?

It's amazing what they can chew with just their gums! Baby gums are much tougher than ours - they are supposed to be. Be prepared for a change in poop though, you'll see the skins again.
