Toy recommendations for an almost 3mo old?

DS is starting to watch toys when I hold them in front of him and even reach for them. Even when I put a toy on his lap, he'll sit and mess with it for a little bit.  I only really have stuffed animals at this point and a couple teethers.  So, does anyone have any recommendations? I have Sophie the Giraffe, and he is just barely starting to get a little interested in it.  Has anyone tried the "Winkle" by Manhattan Toy?  I saw it the other day and thought it might be a good one.

  • i found at that age things like mobiles, and hanging toys were best. The tiny love mobile is my favorite.

Also the small rings that you hang things with, they were great. DS could hold them around 3months and get them in his mouth.

  • DD loves the crinkly toys- the ones that sound like potato chips and pretty much anything she grab and can try to jam in her mouth to drool on.

She also loves, loves, loves her Violet. It's a dog that talks and sings using her name (plugs into computer with USB). They have a boy version too. See PIP

  • DS loves this toy called the "Whoozit" by Manhattan Toy.  It has all sorts of stuff going on and he can play with it for 15-20 minutes at a time or more before he gets tired of it.  Here's a link...

  • DD loves her Fisher-Price Rainforest gym.  It has several hanging toys, rattles, and a mirror for tummy time.  The music will stick in your head for days!!

  • This isn't a teething toy, but my DD LOVES the fisher price kick-n-play piano.  If you have a kicker, you should def get this toy.  As for teether toys, she likes the hangy toys that you can hang on car seats and strollers, and a pp mentioned a "crinkle toy" - my DD loves toys that crinkle too.
