I live in the Corcoran (Rogers/Maple Grove) area and am wondering if anyone has recommendations or suggestions on day care centers and/or in-home for the area.
Moreso than that... where do I start? I tried to Google it - that is useless, it basically comes up with advertisements for the large chain centers in the area.
In homes really don't have websites for the most part. Are there guidelines or resources that I can follow while starting to look at places? I'm tempted to take a day or half day off work and just drive around and go in to places I find for info, but am not sure if that is how you do it. Not for interviews obviously, but just to get contact info...
Re: How to start the daycare search...
Thanks! I will check on there for sure.
Such a daunting task it seems!
Here's a good link to do a search within your neighborhood...
National Association for the Education of Young Children
There is also this website!

mnchildcare.org or Craigslist are good places to start. Of course, you want to interview the provider and also references they give you.
If Hwy 55 and 494 is convenient, Lil Newton's Nest is near there and they are an excellent center with a unique program. It is worth checking into depending on when you need to start.
