I still feel this way. I want a second child more than anything, but REALLY don't want to go through PPD again. And I didn't really have it bad. I guess it doesn't help when I spoke with my Dr and she said well, I guess we'll try and wean you since you are already talking about a second so fast. I didn't think it was fast. We are talking about MAYBE trying at the end of the year. My DS will be 18 months then. IF we get preggo immediately, when #2 is born, DS will be over almost 2 1/2. I guess I don't see that as quick. Oh well. Any advice anyone?
god yes. the whole 1st year was just awful, i never thought i could do it again. It takes time, but you will get there.
for baby #2 i lined up my support system ahead of time assuming the worst would happen. things have been 10000% better. it's bittersweet, because now i realize what i missed out on when DS#1 was a newborn BUT i feel like i got a do-over, kwim?
Re: Has PPD made you question more kids?
Not really. I will be more proactive about treatment next time. Knowing what to expect (and knowing that I'll feel better) is huge.
We're actually thinking of 3-4 kids.
