NMS either, but I just met a little girl named Paulina and I thought that was really cute. Her mom was Russian, so I'm sure that's where that came from.
I want to like it, but I'm not a big fan on take guy names and adding an a to make them girl names...eric/erica paul/paula. (Although it's still better than the Y trend). Still, she'd be pretty much the only little girl Paula you'll meet.
It might be popular again in a few more generations...it's still needs about forty years to hit the 100-year rule.
I like it as a tribute to a member of the family named Paul. My aunt is named Paula after her dad who was killed in a car accident before she was born.

I like Paulina much better. Paula just sounds ugly to me, and reminds me of particularly annoying, once-famous pop stars. Like I always say... its not my baby, if you love it go for it! At least it will be original in her class, which is a huge bonus in my book!

Yeah, but who wants to be part of the endless Ava/Emma/Grace trend?
I like Paula! Everyone will know how to pronounce and spell it (unlike the issues with all the Makaylas and Brinleighs) and no one else will have it. Also, it has a beautiful and long tradition behind it.

Paula doesn't really strike me as a classic, old name. It reminds me of a 70's name. But if you like it, then you should use it.
Paula is one of the top names in Spain.
It's my mom's name, but she hates it haha.
This is weird, but a few years ago when I worked at an after school program, out of about 80 kids we had 2 Paulina's and one Pauline. Weird!
I think you might be misunderstanding the trend, so let me see if I can help:
We are looking for names from our great grandmothers' generation
Our daughters will like names from our grandmothers' generation
Our granddaughters will like names like Paula, which is from our mothers' generation
