Bumper or no bumper?

My DS has been scooting around his crib..especially when he is awake.  He pushes around with his feet.  I find him laying in completely different positions than I left him.  I even found him with his feet somewhat through the slats.  I had removed the bumper bc I was afraid of him getting stuck against it.  Now I am worried he will get stuck in the slats.  Should I put the bumper back on? Wwyd?

  • We bought a breathable bumper once she was moving around in there.  I didn't want her to get anything stuck in the slats, but I also didn't like how she moves right up against the edges and could smother her face in the thick bumpers.
  • We don't have a bumper. DD moves around all the time, and it's never been a big problem--when she first started scooting around, sometimes she'd stick her feet through the slats and I'd have to move her if she woke up and fussed, but she doesn't do that much anymore.

Personally, I think the risks associated with a bumper are greater than the momentary freak out associated with getting a foot temporarily stuck in the slats.

This ... dd moves all over her crib ... been doing it for a few days now ... doesn't really seem to be a problem ... I've also found her a couple of times w/her feet hanging out but she seems to be able to move them when she's ready. We won't be getting a bumper of any type ... or at least that's the plan. In the event that her moving around becomes a problem, we'll revisit it then.

  • Wonder bumpers are amazing. They are expensive, but soooo worth the piece of mind.
