Could anyone recommend a good newborn and/or BFing class? I wanted to take them through my hospital (St. Joe's) but apparently they are completely booked through my due date of October 3.
We registered at Babies R Us this weekend and they mentioned that they have a free BFing class. Has anyone ever tried this and have any feedback?
Thanks in advance!
Re: classes
check and see if you can go to one at another health east hospital. I would think since they're all the same system, you could go wherever.
I took all of mine at Regions, but that's where I was delivering.
I would just look at other hospitals. There were people taking the class at my hospital who weren't actually delivering there.
United has a lot of classes that are offered, and while I was looking, hardly any were filled up.
I delivered at FV Southdale and took classes there and they were good (we did the express childbirth class and BF). Amma maternity in Edina also offers classes. Here is a link

Blooma also offers classes:

Allina offers breastfeeding classes at several of their hospitals (Abbott, United, Unity, Mercy). It looks like there are quite a few openings. I don't think you need to deliver at an Allina hospital in order to take the class. Here's the link to the list of breastfeeding classes. It looks like it's $30 to take it.
