Stupid Kids and Cleaning Question

Until now, I've used a cleaning lady that cleans while the kids are away from the house.  We've decided to hack the cleaning lady and do it ourselves... 

Do you break down the cleaning and do certain things on certain days or just do it all at once?
When do you clean?  Night Naps?
Do you and DH divide chores?

We obviously clean, but haven't done any real deep cleaning with kids.  It just seemed easier to have it all done and once and then let the kids come home and destroy it all in 5 minutes...

    I spread mine out through the week.  Then I pick up at the end of the day.

    Since she started MDO, I take one day to do stuff for me and run errands and the other day to clean the house.  I have a rotation I work through for deep cleaning.  Kitchen & living room one week.  Playroom, nursery & hall bath for the next week. Masted bed & bath the last week.  That way, everything gets done at least once every three weeks.

    We clean up the kitchen, wipe down the tables, etc every night.  I pick up the living room toys, well she helps, before bedtime and the playroom gets picked up whenever.

    It sucks to spend one whole day cleaning, but it's nice to have a clean house and not have to worry about her being underfoot while I'm doing it.

    We mostly do the deep cleaning on the weekend. DD doesn't go to MDO or anything like that so it's really hard for me to deep clean when she's around. I usually go to sleep earlier than DH so he'll clean up the kitchen and her toys at night. Of course he doesn't do as good a job as I would like. I mean did they not wipe counters down in his home growing up?? We have a housekeeper that comes in once a month to help out also. Cleaning and how much cleaning should be done is the biggest argument DH and I have. Usually my house is a disaster!!
