What are your favorite indoor activities? I'm running out of things to do to keep my boys occupied and being outside in this heat (with morning....errrr...all day sickness is not an option). Plus, our athletic club membership just ran out and we aren't renewing because the pools weren't really geared toward kids. SO, we are going to check out a new place with tons of pools and slides for preschoolers later in the week. But in the meantime.....Anyone have any activities that their kids just LOVE?
Re: Activities for hot days?
I'm so sick of summer. It is tough to find things to do, that's for sure.
We have an indoor kids playground (think Gymboree but with fun toys, cheaper, and family run). We go there a lot. You might try googling kids indoor playground, kids gym, etc. to see if you can find something similar.
Anything with water is do-able, though that would be harder with nausea. Lily has a water table and that usually gets both of us good and wet. Otherwise, we seek out pools, the beach, or a sprayground. The spraygrounds are easily her favorite water activity. Have you played with a sprinkler yet?
So...inside at home...she helps me cook and clean, she loves her own kitchen (I can hardly pull her away from it), art projects, Gymboree bubbles (worth every penny).
Sometimes I try to make a little "event" at home if I can find a way to get out of the house. Like we built a fort out of sheets, or one day we threw a birthday party for the cat.
My silly Lily is almost 4.
Ditto pp --libraries are free and there is always a kid-friendly area.
Also, if there is a mall in your area with a playground, you might check that out. We went to one a couple of weeks ago and DD had a blast!
I also take DD to Music Together classes once a week. It is my absolute favorite thing to do with her. So much fun! And we get to spend time with other moms and kids.
Thanks everyone!
There's a Children's Museum about an hour away. We are going to check that out on my H's next day off. And we are definitely joining that new pool/water park for the boys. This has been the longest summer ever for us, lol!
