Babies: 0 - 3 Months

bedtime bottle?

my favorite nursing session is the one right before bed!  BUT my baby is so tired by that time (she takes catnaps all afternoon) that she doesn't nurse very long or well at that session.  i really was fine with that as she sleeps well at night and usually only wakes once or maybe twice at night.

well, dh has been wanting to swich off with bedtime routine (he has been doing the older girl's for the last few months) and feed the baby so last night i let him.  the baby sttn from 7:45p-6:15a.  i wouldn't mind letting him do that more often right now but once baby starts nursing less during the day i selfishly want to nurse her before bed!   if i get her used to a bedtime bottle do you think later she will expect bottle then and not nurse?  wwyd?

Re: bedtime bottle?

  • From my experience...yes. (but all babies are diff.)

We were giving DD some powder probiotics to help with colic, so we would give a bottle at night.  She recently started to have latching problems and didn`t want to nurse anymore (I think she felt like it was harder and she really liked the bottle).

We switched to bottle just a few days ago.  I pump and feed, as weel as giove formula until I can pump more.
