NBR: Photog ladies, please help!

So my wedding photog emailed me to let me know my album pages were done, even though she emailed a few days ago to say that it would be several more weeks until she was done with them. She sent them off to be printed and they will be shipped directly to me. I then need to go over them and ship them back to her if I okay them. After I send them back she will send the pages to get binded.

Is this normal? Isn't there some way for me to view the pages digitally instead of the hard copies? I'm kind of upset that I will end up having to pay shipping charges to send the prints back to her (especially after all the hassle I have gone through). Plus with all the going back and forth I'm worried the pages will get bent.  What is the best way to ship 12 x 12 album pages? TIA!!!

  • I know some photogs do electronic proof pages especially since that's how they create them in the first place for the books.  I'm not sure why she's doing it this way but hopefully it means she's getting things done.  Maybe she's wanting you to see things in the colors it will be when actually printed since each computer is set up slightly differently for colors.

My guess to ship a 12x12  album page is to use something like a fed ex box or USPS priority mail box.  Mainly because it will be a standard shipping rate and if you went USPS they are picky about sizes these days so it could cost you more.  I have never shipped 12x12 pages that I know of.  If you have a scrapbook store in town it might be worth asking them since 12x12 is a common scrapbook size.  The USPS has a flat rate box that is 12x12x 5.5 inches so that may be your best bet  (the box is free you just have to pay for flat rate shipping which I think is $8-9.  Otherwise just ship them in the container you get them in for simplicity sake.  (Take off the old labels of course)  GL!

  • Ugh! I would tell her that u want her to pay shipping if she wants to do that instead of electronically. That is BS and so not fair to the customer! Are u reporting her to the BBB?
  • Personally, I would just bind them myself.  Screw her, she has been nothing but a PITA.
