DD is starting to sleep 10-12 hours at night and is waking up soaked right through the diaper cover. She usual dream feeds 2-3 times but if I change her diaper she wakes up and wants to play. We're using diaper service pre-folds with Thirsties or Bummis covers. The pre-folds are actually a bit large for her so there is alot of cotton but it's not enough anymore. I'd like to get some doublers but there are so many options. What do you use? Why?
Re: CD-ers: Doubler ?
Hemp is great, but can be pricey.
You can also use microfiber - we used two full sized BG inserts inside a BG 3.0 and never had a leak. However, because MF is so absorbent, we struggled with stink issues after about a year of usage.
Several of my friends who use a diaper service have gone on to buy diapers just for use for overnight. They really like Goodmamas (if you like fitteds) and BGs as well.

I have hemp doublers (pp is right, put the hemp behind the cotton or terry) and I also have terry cloth doublers. If you are having a big wetting problem (I do) then use several.
Baby Kicks makes their hemp doublers in an hourglass shape to keep between the leg bulk down. I use a terry cloth in front of a hemp. I still change during the night SOMETIMES. I don't stack the doublers right on top of each other. I do them so that in back it isn't a 'ledge' of doubler. So one is a little forward and one is a little back.
You can get different sizes. I do a small terry (but thick!) and a large hemp that way the bulk isn't too bad.
Thanks ladies! I'll look in to some hemp doublers. I wouldn't have thought to put them between the prefold and cover but that makes sense.
Thanks again!
