It was too hot to go anywhere with B today and he's too little for parades and fireworks. So, today was laundry day. Lame, but I'm not too upset about missing out on stuff. Plus, we live in a resort area, so everyone and his brother (literally) are here this weekend, making it miserably crowded.
We might have hung out with family, but we tried that last night and had to leave early when one of my white-trash cousins wouldn't stop smoking, cursing, and using the N-word. Everyone else was half-in-the-can, so they took no note. Ugh.
Anyway, anyone else just hangin' out? I might watch the fireworks on t.v. or I might go read in bed...
Re: Anyone else NOT doing anything?
We're not doing anything. It's raining buckets, occasionally hailing, and we're under a flash flood warning.
I'm LOVING the weather. It cooled things down considerably. I have all the windows open and I'm just listening to the constant thunder.
Poor DH and our boston terrier are cuddled together under a blanket because they're cold. :oD
Nada... at least nada for the 4th stuff. We went to a birthday party today, and thought we'd try out some fireworks, but dh is veto-ing them
So yet another year without fireworks. I don't know the last time we saw them---- and I LOVE them
Getting back to it- my diet and exercise blog
Losing it...Without Losing it
nope. nothing here.
We went up to my parents camp and drove home today. Addison didn't nap in the car like we planned & DH & I are sick so he slept the rest of the day and I took care of everything else.
Whole lotta nada here. It's too hot out and it's nice vegging here and eating.
I really like fireworks, too, and have such great memories of braving the crowds and huddling with my family on a blanket on the beach to watch them. However, we've discovered that our local minor-league baseball stadium has fireworks after every Saturday game and they're a much better show without the hassle of crowds. But there's nothing like the excitement and anticipation of fireworks on the Fourth!

Nada here. We just got back from a small family bbq. Now we're watching Spiderman 3. Fraidy-dog is curled up into the tiniest possible bean with her head buried in DH's armpit as protection against the fireworks.
Mother's Day, 2011
We're under flash flood warning? We have flash floods? Holy crap.
I'm not doing anything exciting. Just hanging out at home with LO, cleaning up around the house, and tackling my ever growing to do list.
Oh yeah. You know Spring Creek that runs through town? It flooded 10ish years ago. Took out a lot of campus and the areas around it.
Tales of the Wife
The whole complete bed rest thing put a damper on our plans. In a round about way I'm okay with that though. I wasn't sure how I was going to do it w/o being a party pooper anyway. This worked out that I got to rest and some friends who had never been to a St. Paul Saints game got to go and have a good time with our tickets.
And I should be able to see at least a portion of the fireworks from my bedroom window. Hopefully.
We just put on a movie. Doing big fat nothing all day - cleaned and did laundry. It's too rainy to do anything else. My ILs brought dinner over and we hung out. Apparently people in our neighborhood are doing stuff because there is an incessant cracking of fireworks outside, but us... not so much.
The funniest part was when our friends (who we spent last 4th of july with) called and asked what we were doing tonight - if we were going to walk out to the beach to watch the fireworks like we did last year. I wanted to say... um... P.S. We have a baby and he's asleep. In his bed. Ironically, hey are having a baby in a few months. They have NO IDEA what's coming. LOL.
The kids & I spent the day at afriend's house yesterday, where we did a yardsale. Today, we all stayed home & I cooked and baked, plus some berry picking. We ate a picnic outside, and the kids did sparklers (we'll watch our community festival fireworks in 2 weeks). Tomorrow, Korra has a pagent meeting for the pictures in the paper for the pagent & festival.
That's our big exciting life. DH is working all weekend, and we only have one vehicle at the moment.
