aw: i love new furniture!!

we've been living with our ikea furniture and hand me down couch for a loooong time now.  when we got married, we kind of just got everything we could from any sale pile and our stuff was a mish mash of just stuff.  I'm soooo excited, we ordered our first REAL pieces of furniture today!!  A sofa and a love seat!  We finally have furniture that a) will be kept for a long, long time b) was something we actually wanted and saved for!

 ok, i just had to aw that because it took us 4 years to actually buy a real piece of furniture! (well, that wasn't for the girls.  they actually have new, good furniture.  our dresser in our bedroom was mine in high school  lol)  i feel like an adult!!

    There is nothing like getting something you saved for and waited for to get. That is how we got every single piece of furniture we own since we moved in together when I was 19!!

    Congrats!  It's such a great feeling.  We lived with the craziest mismatch of bedroom furniture for about 3 years.  We had stuff from both of our childhood rooms, stuff from college, and a totally ghetto homemade plywood TV stand for our old school giant TV (we even had to put a bungee cord on top of the TV for extra support).  I was so happy to see it all go.  We have a matching bedroom set and everyday I still get excited to see it.

    Hey, congrats!  It's awesome that you guys saved up for it, too.  You will enjoy it much more knowing that it's paid for.  So nice to sit on a new couch!

    I love hand-me-down and antique furniture, too, though, usually when it's wood and not upholstered.  I still have my dresser from high school, and I have no idea how old it is but it was in my family for ages before I got it.  And our sideboard in our front room was my mom's dresser for a long time, and I doubt she bought it new.  We also have a couple of great dining chairs we inherited from a neighbor who was going to toss them--those we re-upholstered with a fun new fabric.

    But I digress.  Enjoy the new and comfy couches!!   Woohoo!

    LOL-- I agree.  And I wish I could get DH to agree.  We still have garage sale night stands.

    Pics please!!!!!!!

    When we sold our old house, we sold it furnished so we got to buy all new furniture for this house, I agree SO much fun!!

    Congrats!  I can't wait to be able to do that.  We upgraded so much in terms of space that most of our new house is empty.  We also spent a lot on remodeling, so the furniture is going to have to wait.
