youtubing Daddy/Daughter songs
We also went to register today and ANYTHING that said ANYTHING about Daddy had to be scaned.
Is it bad that I'm already scared for how much this little girl will have him wrapped around his finger? LOL
I will say when she gets to be teen those two will have some epic battles. He's going to be the one to take her clothes shopping that's for sure.
Re: so I just caught DH
Mine is a football coach so he was really pulling for a boy. He walked around in a daze for a few days but I think has embraced it now
Thanks
He asked instantly when we got in the car if we could put a gun on our registry. umh, no
His motto right now is she can swim in a turtle neck
I just have to say your siggy pic is the cutest thing I've ever seen!
my read shelf:
Thank you!!
This is so funny! My DH is a cop and does a lot of shooting competitions. He's planning on putting his trophy's on our mantle when the girls are teenagers and getting out his raid gear or cleaning his guns whenever boy come over! I am expecting to have to run some major interference!
Dear Husband
That is so cute! When thought we were having a boy (for no particular reason) DH was saying how he was going to "keep him in line" and train him to be a star athlete, blah, blah, blah... and then we got our ultrasound.
The SECOND they told us it was a girl DH said... "I'M DONE.. it's all you"
He melted instantly!
I totally understand! My DH was terrified when we had the u/s and I squealed "Girl!" He panicked at first because he has absolutely no experience with girls and had no idea how he was going to interact with her. Once we had a talk about all the things that little girls can do (I reminded him I played several sports as a little girl) and going to our 4 year old nieces first ballet recital he has become obsessed with his little girl. We have every outfit or bib that mentions Daddy.
His prized posession right now is his D.A.D.D. t-shirt (Dads Against Daughters Dating) She's not even here yet but he says he's just getting prepared!
It's great that your DH is so excited, we have lucky little girls to have such caring daddies!
Good luck!
this...and we will be mid 50's when our LO is dating...I know DH will still be wanting to punch the boys out...lol...my poor girl !!! (I am secretly hoping she will come out a boy
)
We were not going to find out the sex, but then the excitement was too much during the appointment. We both had said boy or girl, we would be just as happy... however I was secretly hoping for a boy! The tech said "It's a girl!" and I looked over to DH who looked like he was holding back tears. He didn't say a single word the rest of the appt and right afterward he headed back to work. I wasn't sure what to make of his "weird" behavior and thought for sure he was upset. Well, after our appt, he went straigt to his best friends auto shop and the first thing he said was "Well looks like we'll be taking little girls fishing and hunting together!" (his best friend had a baby girl in January) So I think this means he is excited and then that night he came home and had all sorts of girls names he had thought of.
And of course... she'll be daddy's girl and he has made it clear she won't be dating until she is 30 and he will have to be cleaning his gun anytime a boy comes around, too funny!
That was my biggest fear when I learned we were having not one but twin girls. All I could think of was that I would have to live in a house where I am the bad guy, because my husband cannot place any restrictions on his daughters. These are our first kids and after speaking to my friends (and reflecting on my own relationship with my Dad- I asked him to give me a ride to Buy Buy Baby over the weekend and he ended up buying a stroller for me), I know that fathers have no hope around their daughters. My big fear is that my husband will be permissive with money (hair and nails and what I call stripper clothes- the horrible clothes which are marketed to little girls now).
You should be thrilled he is so excited. My girls are 4 and 6 and the definition of "Daddy's Girls", just yesterday they went golfing together. My best friend's daughter is almost one, and her husband is just started to get more involved in her care and showing her more loving attention. He was so disappointed they didn't have a boy and he didn't try to hide it. I feel bad for my friend because she sees how my husband is with our girls and wants that relationship for her daughter and husband.
Consider yourself lucky.
That's cute.
Your ultrasound sounds exactly like mine! I think I actually heard DH say "What?" He had been addressing the baby as "he" or "little guy" up until we found out we're having a girl. I told him that he might get lucky and she'll be somewhat of a tomboy like me, but he doesn't seem to believe me...
Our daughter will be 4 in October and daddy is still jelly:). Our son will be born on Aug. 27th and he is equally excited about him. One day I was saying how Matthew is going to stick with me, but quickly said, no I'll have my son. Now I'm wondering whose going to be with me:)
All in all, it is soooo good for our children to have wonderful, loving and caring fathers. I'm thankful.
