Mattress / Mattress Cover

We are getting the Colgate Classica II mattress.  I have registered for the ultimate crib sheet to put over the fitted sheet - do I also need get a mattress cover/protector over the mattress?

    I have a waterproof flannel mattress cover on DD's mattress to protect it and to make it feel less vinyl covered.  I used those terry cloth protectors that tie to the crib rails (their name escapes me right now) to prevent spit up and drool spots on the sheets.  They saved me many sheet changes.  I still use the mattress cover, and think they are worth the money.

    Is it the Sheet Saver?  I registered for those too - along with the ultimate crib sheet that covers the whole crib.  Thought I'd try both and see what worked better.

    Yes!  Sheet Savers.  I had three of them and used them constantly.
