I think it's pretty, but wouldn't use it because we live near a town of the same name but spelled Brielle.

BFP 6/11, heard the heartbeat twice. no heartbeat on 7/13/11, d&c the next day @ 9 weeks 2 days.
BFP 1/30/12 from IUI, triplets confirmed at 6 weeks. Everything is great until I had pPROM, delivered the next day at 22 weeks 6 days. 1 was stillborn, 2 lived for a short time.
Thanks for your opinions ladies! I'm not really sold on it because I'm usually into traditional or biblical names. I think I'll put it on the list though.

I would name her Gabrielle and call her Briel/Brielle.
I know a woman who always loved the nickname Bree, so she named her daughter Gabrielle specifically so they could use that nickname (rather than Gabby, or naming her Brianna, which they didn't like as much).
I don't like it much - I'm not a fan of all the Bri names anyway (massive amounts in my area), but Briel looks like you're trying to feminize cheese. I've seen Brielle which visually works better for me, but I still can't get behind this name.
I'm late to this post, but I was lurking and came across it. I have a male cat names Gabriel (like the Saint....... I've not seen the saint's name spelled Gabrielle. That to me is a girl's name, like Gabby.) I call my cat Briel and I absolutely adore it. lol. I know, I know, not the same as a baby, but still. I love it.
Re: What do you think of Briel?
Lol, I kinda feel you there, it's funny because I actually came across it on a saints names website as a shortened version of Gabrielle.
That spelling looks made up. The name itself is French and derived from Gabrielle I believe, or Abrielle. I've only ever seen it spelled Brielle.
I am not really a fan though.

stangely, the spelling "Brielle" softens it for a me a bit...
this
not bad...just reminds me of the cheese Bri - which would most likely be her nickname.
It's not my style but I think it could work

This, spelled this way.
This... although my hatred is more towards Brielle. It just looks like Braille to me.

We must live close to one another b/c that is EXACTLY why it was crossed off our list!
This! I've never seen it spelled any other way besides Brielle. It is a beautiful name.
I love it. I helped my sister pick it out for my 8 yo neice, Brielle.
My sister Danielle, used all "elle" endings for her 4 daughters names.
This.

Oh, but Gabrielle is awesome - go figure.
