I'm assuming that the size of your bump isn't correlated to baby size - but why is it that bump sizes vary so widely from woman to woman? i know one girl who has had 3 kids, and for each, you could barely tell she was pg until the very end. each had a "normal" birthweight, as far as i know. also, i was looking at the weekly bump pics on my month board, and it varies so much!
i'm not even 20w yet, and all of a sudden, i feel like my tummy's gotten huge. i've been looking forward to looking pg (as opposed to just looking like i ate too much), but this is a bit ridiculous!
this morning:
but then i decided that angle didn't really do it justice, so i tried again:
and this was 5 days ago (excuse the wet hair in all these photos!):
so...eh? or do bumps grow at different rates and end up more or less the same before birth?
Re: (me too - huge!) bump size correlated to baby size, or no? (w/PIPs)

you are NOT huge but i know what you mean! your belly has officially popped and it's cute!!
i wonder myself so i don't know the answer to your question
. from what i have observed, it doesn't correlate. my friend had huge bump but only had a 5 lb baby.
You're definately popped, I think I popped at about the same time. It was nice to start getting stranger comments and to stop looking like I just drank to much beer.
You look great!

I don't think they necessarily correlate - I remember Tina saying that the reason she had such a large bump was because she had a lot of amniotic fluid and a big placenta. At any rate, you look fantastic!
Lookin' good!
I don't know... I think I felt average sized and my baby ended up being average sized. I would imagine other things could affect it, though -- like where you carry weight and how your body adapts to and sustains the pregnancy. My friend was absolutely ginormous and thought she was having a 10 lb baby b/c she was that size at birth, but then he was only 8 pounds when he was born.
You're adorable!
My bump was average, I wasn't too big and either was my baby- 6.10. I was opposite of Tina, I had to get induced because of low amniotic fluid. Maybe that's why I wasn't huge?
Yep. My guess is that's why everyone carries different/has different sized bellies. It varies with how much amnio fluid there is, placenta size/placement etc. Maya was 7lbs 12oz and Samara was 8 lbs on the button but everyone swore black and blue I was either having twins or a 10 pounder.
I love proving people wrong haha.
this totally makes sense. and - haha
. i feel better now, b/c you were sporting quite a bump there with samara!
i don't want to think about birthing a 10 pounder!
