i would absolutely advise you to follow your doctors orders.
this. There's reason your doctor has given you this medical advice.
However, after my D&C (and please don't compare because everyone is different) my dr said we only had to wait one cycle. Though, it took us another 7 months to get pregnant again.
I had an early mc at 8 weeks (baby had only grown to 6 weeks) My Doc didn't feel that there was any need for us to wait other than for emotional reasons, and whether we were ready to be pregnant again. I had my D & C on Oct. 23, had my first period on Nov 16 and got a positive pregnancy test on Dec. 18th. I think it depends on how far along you were and all of that.

Everyone is different, and of course you should follow your dr's instructions... but you've already said you're going to do that, so i'll stop with the lecture and just answer your question :-)
I had a D&C in March (see siggy for details). My dr. said that the reasons to wait to try again would be A) for emotional reasons so that they would have a LMP to date the pregnancy... HOWEVER, there was no physical reason to wait again.
We didn't wait... and fell pregnant in April a few weeks after the D&C (before next AF). I am now just about 15 weeks.
Sorry about your loss! I had a D&C at 13 weeks and my Dr. said that there was really no physical reason to wait if I didn't want to but for emotional reasons a couple months isn't a bad idea. I had VERY slow decreasing hcg and it took over 15 weeks for it to be back in the "non pregnant" range. I'm actually glad that I had that time, my body was not ready. You can always get a second opinion, but maybe your Dr. has good reason to suggest 3 months (which seems to be the standard). Good luck!
I asked the same question after my D&C. I knew I would wait, but just wanted to see what "the norm" was. My doctor said 3 periods as it was a 'late' loss (23 weeks). He said for early losses (1st tri), they often say wait one cycle. My first period took 8 weeks, so after the second one (12 weeks or so), they gave me the go ahead to start trying again. We didn't get pg that cycle, but the following. I don't "know" you, so maybe you are, but if you are really anxious to get pg again, I'd definitely suggest charting. I think it helped me get pg quickly. If you want more info on it, pm me or just post - lots of people will have good info on it.
I'm so sorry for your loss and wish you the best of luck!
We were told to wait until after 2 periods, and we listened. We had our first IUI the first cycle we were allowed and got pg. I remember how frustrating it was to wait, but it really is for the best. You need to let your body heal. GL!
My Dr had also said 3 months... but it seemed that I ended up having some "complications"... my body seemed to think I was still pg so I never got AF and ended up having to take hormones to restart it up again... I had the D&C the beginning of Dec and didn't get my first AF till May...

A Butterfly lies beside us
like a sunbeam
and for a brief moment,
its beauty and glory
belong to our world.
But then it flies on again.
And though we wish it could have stayed
we feel so lucky to have seen it.

This. Why take a chance?
We were waiting 2-3 months, and it ended up taking 7-8 months unfortunately.
