Lunch with mom

My lunch went very well. My mom was very open & receptive to the things I had to say. We had a very long & honest talk, & I'm hoping that getting things out in the open will be a good start to improving our relationship (not that it's bad now, but there were definitely barriers to our closeness). I feel much better!

I posted about it earlier with my dr update. Basically, I told my mom that there were some things I felt like I wanted to clear up before the baby arrives. Just some underlying issues/stress/resentment that I felt were hindering out relationship & causing me to want to shut her out sometimes. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time, & I finally saw the impending arrival of the baby as the perfect opportunity to get the guts to open up & tell her how I feel!

Dani- we should totally chat about this (I think we touched on it when we all met back in January if I remember correctly...) My mom & I had similar issues awhile ago. We never "aired them out" but, now that Hayden is here, my mom & I are SOOOOO much closer. We used to talk only about once a week (if that) and now I almost don't go a day without talking to her.

Life is too short to sweat the small stuff, and obviously, you agree or you wouldn't have taken that brave step today. Way to go!!!
