Thankfully it was a lot better than my appt Monday!
I tried to opt out of the internal and my Dr basically told me that he had never heard of any practice not doing them every week and he needed to know where I was and if the baby was moving down etc. And I got all upset and started crying (darn hormones!) but he talked me through it, we took it VERY slowly and DH held my hand so it was much better. It seemed to help that we pushed the baby down a bit before he started.
So, still 1 cm dilated. He said my cervix is about 2cm thick, but didn't mention the word effacement and the baby is still really high.
Based on how the baby measures and feeling around my abdomen he thinks I have a 7lb baby already and said now that I'm full term it's time to work on getting this baby out before it gets much bigger.
They won't induce until 41 weeks so it's up to me to get things going.
He said if you find one thing that makes you feel more crampy, more pressure or starts contractions, KEEP DOING IT! Then he said he hopes the next time he sees me it's at the hospital! I don't think that will be the case but who knows.
He also said that the bigger the baby gets, the more difficult it might be be for me to deliver vaginally esp with my family history and I guess my pelvis is kind of narrow. We're going for vaginal first though.
So, better than Monday. Now it's Operation Bring On Labor. Guess I should probably pack my hospital bag just in case my attempts to start labor actually work!
Re: 37 week appt
Happy to hear this appt was better than Monday. Keep rolling on that labor ball! I can't wait for Baby C to get here!
Oh, and pack your bag silly!
I'm glad to hear it went better than your last internal! No one should have to go through that.
I read somewhere that an average cervix is 4cm thick, so if you're 2cm that means you're about 50% assuming you had a normal cervix to begin with.
That makes more sense. Thanks!

EH- I would take this with a grain of salt. I've never heard of estimates like this to be on-target, plus YOU and YOUR BODY can do anything you put your mind to.
Glad it went better! C'mon Baby C!!!
