Governor Schwarzenegger...

Is a butt.

We'd much rather have furloughs than this... https://www.californiahealthline.org/articles/2010/7/2/gov-orders-minimum-wage-for-state-workers-doctors-affected.aspx

I'm sure they'll get things corrected before next month but if not... psh.  See y'all later, we won't be able to afford internet.

Re: Governor Schwarzenegger...

  • that's ridiculous!

a friend of mine works for tanf (cash welfare) and they announced furloughs. Then as everyone adjusted to that idea, they decided to not do fuloughs and cut benefits. People don't work for the state for the pay. They work for the benefits. It's bullsh*t. So they'll be working the same hours, just as much work, effectively a huge paycut.

Exactly... the benefits are awesome... but if they cut his pay, he might as well go work at Sizzler.  At least he'd get tips nad free food.

  • Two of my closest friends are Lawyers for our local County and their paycuts go into effect soon.  Total bullshit!

P.S. They have been furloughed 2 days per month for nearly a year now!

Same here, for DH.  We got used to the furloughs, just when we think we're getting them back, now this.  Nothing like losing $40,000 to a pay-cut.  $7.50/hour, here we come!
