With my luming deadline of Thursday, I would really like to go into labor naturally, but am curious ... what would you be willing to do to induce labor? Anything you ladies know of that might actually work?
I know its only been like 16 hours since she stripped my membranes but I'm kind of getting worried thinking it will never happen on it's own.
Re: WWYD to induce labor?
Sexy time with DH! Just makes sure the job is done, so to speak, because it is just not the act of sex, but the semen helps to ripen the cervix.
In my reading on the membranes lately, it says for some people it works within hours and others it may take a 2nd attempt. Definitely jump over to the 3rd trimester board. Those ladies are always discussing that.
Ideas? I am over here sitting on the exercise ball.
Ugh...Doctor said no intercourse for a couple days! And its been ages since DH can't really do much with his back injury but if this show doesn't get moving on its own in the next couple days, I'm making him!
My plan:
sit on exercise ball as much as I can
walk at least 2-3 miles a day
evening primrose oil on the cervix
maybe try red raspberry leaf tea
sexy time with DH
I think they'll try membrane stripping next week or at 39 weeks, not sure
Well crap! Tell DH to rest up!
I heard about this...you can download the recipe and make it at home...
I hope any of these tricks work for you girls...I tried a bunch of stuff and for me none of it worked...I still had to be induced after all
I went 40+ wks
I walked a.k.a waddled around as much as I could, sexy time, ate pineapple becasue bromelain is supposed to naturally introduce labor and I figured fruit can't hurt, ate pizza with green peppers and onions because that put my mom in labor both times ...
I finally issued Lil Miss an ultimatum, you have 8 hours to come out on your own, or we are coming in after you. That did the trick.
Also, there was some recipe floating around for mac and cheese with A1 sauce or something equally as terrible that was supposed to be guaranteed to work. Ask on either 3rd tri or Toddlers 12-24.
