Pregnant after a Loss

I'm no longer answering my phone (vent warning)

My mom, dad, doula, and friend all called me this morning to see "how I was feeling" and see if I think anything is going on.

I am already on pins and needles and freaking out about going into labor next week when literally everyone on our support team (including our doula and our babysitter for DD and back-up) is out of town.

Having people remind me that they are leaving and/or how it would be "good if you had him by Sunday so we could be there" isn't helping any.  I broke down crying after I talked to my mom because I feel like a ticking time bomb and that people are counting on me to have this magical control over when I go into labor.

I'm just sick of the reminders that I have no help with DD next week.  If anyone knows how "convenient" it would be for me to go into labor this weekend, it's me.  But, I also know it's not going to happen & I have no control over the situation.

If they wanted to be there, why are they leaving?

I'm sorry you're so stressed, I completely get it.  It's so much easier to make plans when you know the schedule, especially when you have DD to worry about.  I'm sure everything will work out in the end...there's nothing you can do but wait for labor to start, but I hope it happens either very soon or after people are back in town!

Well, we've known from the start that our doula is going on vacation.  She has a back-up, so that's not the end of the world.  I still want her there, but the back-up doula is pretty cool, so I'm ok with it.

Both sets of friends that were going to watch DD decided to go on last-minute vacations...one because the child she nannies for is going on vacation last-minute and it's the only time off my friend will have all summer, so my friend is going home to see her family.   The other, I'm not sure why they're leaving last-minute.  I guess because they can.

Obviously, I would never expect anyone to not go on vacation because of the possibility that I'll go into labor.  That's just crazy.  But, it's still frustrating/disappointing all the same.

Makes sense...I was thinking it was family that was taking off last minute...similar to my MIL and he last minute plan to take off right before my due date, which is pretty annoying.  It definitely is frustrating to have them call and announce they hope you go into labor so they can be there though...just a reminder to add stress.

  • I'm sorry they are stressing you out.  If someone mentions that again, tell them how it makes you feel.  Let them know you don't need the extra stress.  If they care, they will at least try to understand.  I hope they back off.  Hang in there!
  • (((HUGS))) I am sorry the people are stressing you out.
If I were your IRL friend I would have just offered to bring DD with us on vacation so that you would have one less thing to worry about :O)

Finding child care for DS for something that is not scheduled has been my biggest concern.. & here is my new way of thinking on the topic.....
No point in worrying about what you cannot control, everything will work out
