Anatomy Scan Results-not good

I'm at a loss for words and feel like I was just hit by a ton of bricks. First, I have Placenta Previa. That I can deal with. I am now considered high risk because there was a spot found on Brady's brain that could be a marker for downs or it could be nothing. My OB said it may resolve itself on its own. Also, it looks like something isn't right with one of his kidneys which is apparently something that's common in boys and can work itself out too. The tech was also not able to get good pictures of his heart so I need to go in again for that. My OB recommended an amnio. I'm so upset right now. All I wanted was a healthy baby. If you could spare and thoughts and prayers baby Brady and I could really use them.

Sending good thoughts your way! I'm sure those are really scary things to hear. A my big u/s with Hannah they found enlarged kidneys (more common in boys). I was really scared but my OB was very reassuring. We monitored the kidney situation with extra u/s. When H was born the issue was still there and gradually went away by one year. It was monitored by taking her for a kidney u/s every 3 months with a pediatric urologist. My neighbor had upsetting u/s results as well when they found a bright spot or mass on the brain. 3 weeks later when she went for another u/s and to meet with the high risk doctors it was already gone. I hope these stories give you some hope. We're here to offer support as you get through this scary time! ((hugs))

i'm so sorry to hear you had such a rough scan. it sounds like there's a good chance that all of these problems will resolve on their own and you'll have a healthy baby, but as someone who's also in the high-risk group (because of placenta previa), i totally understand that knowing that you "might" have a 100% healthy baby isn't terribly comforting. this stuff is so scary and i'm so sorry you have to deal with it.

Ash, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know it's the worst news you could have recieved right now, but try to stay calm for you and Brady and see what the other tests say. The positive side, right now, is that everything they noted they said could resolve itself. And your previa might be blocking the most optimum views. I will be praying my heart out for you guys. Huge (((HUGS))). I'm so so so sorry.

I'm sorry!

We had to get our anatomy scan repeated as well, because we couldn't get a good view of the heart, either... and my SCH was still trying to eat the baby. Get the other tests and maybe things will show up better when you go for another scan and everything could resolve itself.

Sending you lots of thoughts and prayers. I know all situations are different but my friend had the same thing with her son. In her case the spot turned ou to be fine and corrected itself. I will pray that erverything will be fine for you too.

sorry you are dealing with this...I know a few on SAIF had the spot on the brain, so maybe ask there...
