This made me cry from jealousy :(

As many of you know, my brother and SIL are taking a trip around the world. They are about 1/3 of the way through their travels and have been blogging about it.

I'm blaming hormones on this one as well but their post about climbing Kilimanjaro made me cry for some reason. I'm very happy for them, I'm glad they're able to do all of these things but I guess I'm also jealous that they get to do all these things I'll probably never do. I also thought this post was very sweet, especially with them kissing at the top. I'm so proud of them for doing this together and not killing e/o!

A more rational Morgan probably wouldn't be crying right now either but I am. Boo!

Anyhow, check out their blog if you're interested, it seems like they're having and amazing time. The Kili post is the first one.

And if you want to get an idea of how crazy this trip is/has been/will be look at the itinerary tab.

  • Yes, but you're about to take part in life's greatest miracle.  They should be jealous!

I totally agree!  And for the record I'm jealous that there are real people (not famous people lol) that can afford to not work for over a year and travel all around the world.  What do they do?? LOL

  • Your brother seems a lot like mine, he is off in Ecuador right now.

You are trading world ravels for the best adventure in the world, motherhood. Morgan, it's funny how your idea of fun changes once you have kids, you have fun watching them have fun. You can make your child a world traveler like little Nathan and take him/her tag along with you on your adventures.

  • Wow, that is one amazing journey they're taking!   My head is spinning from just looking at the itinerary!  Travel

However, like the other girls have said, you're about to embark on the trip of a lifetime!  Big Smile

  • I can definitely understand being envious of their trip - it sounds absolutely incredible!  And while taking a full year to travel may not be in the cards once you have a little one, it sounds like you have already travelled to some pretty cool places and there is certainly no reason why the little one can't tag along for lots and lots of future trips to amazing places.  If you have the travel bug, best to share it with the little one and open up the world for them.  So a year-long trip, maybe not.  But shorter trips throughout a lifetime can really add up!  And you could always get your bro and SIL to babysit for a couple weeks while you and Steve head up Kili, right?  The world is at your feet even if it doesn't seem that way right now.
  • Thanks ladies.

My brother is an options trader and he's been very successful, my SIL quit her job as a marketing consultant for Wrigley/Mars company to go on the trip. They're not short on money by any stretch of the imagination. I don't know much they actually have and I really don't WANT to know. More than I'll ever have, that's for sure.

I wouldn't trade places with them right now even if I could. If I were doing a trip around the world I'd be doing it in a completely different way. They have a 'bucket list'  type of itinerary and my style is more Eat, Pray, Love. Spending more time in each place.

    Anyhow, I feel better. Thanks.

  • I am sorry.  I get envious of people who travel as well, but it hasn't been in the cards for me either.  You have done some amazing things like live overseas, have a DW (I still haven't had one despite being on baby #2), had a babymoon (I had never even heard of this until I was pregnant with #2 so clearly didn't have one of those).  Your baby will get to grow up in a cool city with lots of culture.  Besides you can always travel with kids or in retirement when you can take your time.  Also, I love your "I'm so crafy I made a human" siggy badge.  That made my day.
  • Wow, well most people never get to do stuff like that.  I'm amazed, Galapagos, Machu Pichu, Brazil, Angentina, I'm jealous too.  I had to look up Kilimanjaro, I didn't know where it was.

I agree, your journey is amazing also

  • I'm jealous too! Wow what an adventure. To be honest, as much as I can't wait to have a LO someday, I wonder if we'll ever be able to travel like that and have a family.
