We had a busy day today.
First we went to check out our new daycare center where S. will stay Wednesdays and Thursdays. Such a great daycare center! Its very small (only 2 groups of 15 children), the staff is super nice and we just had an overall good feeling of the place. I sure can breathe a lot easier knowing S. will be good taken care of when I start work again on Sept. 1st.
Second, we had my 6wk post-op appointment at the gynecologist. My uterus is measuring 8.2cm, so right on schedule for this time after the delivery. We talked about how I experienced the labor and emergency c-section. He also said we can start TTC when S. is 6 months old (not that we plan to do this, but its good to know when we might start TTC for no. 2). Also we decided no. 2 will be delivered by a planned c-section. With all the stress of getting to the hospital in time for my 2 portions of AB before delivery once the contractions start, and whether or not no. 2 will fit, my gynecologist agreed that next time we should go for a fairly non-stressful event being the scheduled c-section. I'm quite happy about it really. Of course I would love a natural birth, but I'm realistic enough that that probably isn't in the cards for me. And after all I've been through with this delivery, I just want our next one to have the least chance of catching my Group B Strep bacteria, which is by c-section. The health of a possible next baby is more important to me than me having my natural birth.
Last we had a obligatory weigh-in of S., since he was weighing a bit light last week. But S. fattened up quite nicely this week (180 grams!!) so our next pedi appointment is not until August 6th (when he also gets his first set of shots...poor guy)
So big YAY's all around for DH, S. and me today :-)
Re: 6week post-op appointment & other BR stuff
It sounds like a great appointment! I am glad that both you and baby S are doing great!!
Can I ask you a question...do you have private daycares in Holland? In France they are all run by the state or your employer (no public) and the waiting list is forever long...we are still on the list for both the state and we have a spot finally for the 1st of September (we registered in April 2009).
@ Barbara; yeah its a private daycare, but we've been on the waiting list since I was 13 weeks pregnant (roughly since the beginning of November 2009). And we first got a spot a daycare we didn't really love, but settled with it b/c at least we would have spot. Then the same foundation which owns almost all daycares in our town transferred us to the 'internal" waiting list (for people who already have a child in daycare but want to switch) and we only gotten this spot last week.
