Books for dads during pregnancy

Did your DH read any books to educate himself about pregnancy and such during your pregnancy? My friend just found out she is pregnant and her husband is a little clueless .... very excited but clueless ... so I was curious if you had any books your DH liked that you could recommend.

Thanks!

  • When we found out, I bought Bri "The Expectant Father" but he wasn't really into.  He thought a lot of it was BS, but if this guy is pretty clueless, it would probably be helpful to him.

  • DH has The Expectant Father and Dude's Guide to Pregnancy but he read WTE more than either of those.

Our friends passed this book down to us when they were done having kids and DH has been reading it.  He thinks parts of it are silly but other parts make him think about things.  I think the book has some good lists for basics (what to buy for baby) since a lot of the lists you see on registry sites contain a lot of misc crap that isn't necessarily needed.  Like a newborn requires a $100 toy chest at birth!  Anyway that's the only book we've dealt with and it's better than having nothing especially for a first pregnancy.

  • I got DH Caveman's Guide to the First Year right before Caroline and he enjoyed reading it and referring to it.  There is also Caveman's Guide to Pregnancy that should be pretty good too.
  • I got books from the library for my husband and marked the father's section in WTEWYE but he refuses to read anything. If I forward him e-newsletters he'll glance at them, but he keeps telling me he'll learn by experience as things happen. I think he'd be into a guy's iPhone pregnancy app!
