I am thinking that the sound will be too much for small babies but my girlfriend who is a mom of 2 says we should go watch fireworks and bring him. What are you going to do?
ugh, not looking forward to this - we don't have much of a choice, our house is prime viewing area for the city's main show At least it is somewhat from a distance.
interestingly, at a funeral we went to the gun salute didn't phase him but usually loud noises make him cry... So I'm going to try to get him to sleep before they start and just hope for the best.
I'd do it, but we're really lucky that our dudes will sleep through damn near anything once they're asleep. So I'd probably try to get there a little while before it started so I'd have time to settle them before the fireworks got going.
well my parents live just up the hill from the area where the city shoots the fireworks so we'll be really close... i am not sure what i am going to do b/c i know she'll love to look at them but she'll be afraid of the noise???...when something loud goes off she gets scared and cries...today i used the food processor and she startled and literally jumped up and then almost started crying...when there was gun fire on TV that startled her she started crying....
We're going to Chicago this weekend for a get together with a bunch of college friends...... So we're all going to a park on a lake to watch the fireworks -- with husbands and kids! The other kids are much older tho.
My biggest problem is that the fireworks start at 9pm and Alexa's bedtime is 7:30/8! Plus the time difference will mean an hour earlier!
I decided to just go with the flow... She is usually on a routine and in bed on time, so I think one night out of the ordinary won't be bad. I figure she'll fall asleep before they start but might wake up... She's not a crier, so I bet she just snuggles with me. She might like watching them, I hadn't even thought of it. I might cover her ears if they seem loud.
Anyway, I am just banking on the face that she's an easy going baby and somehow it'll work out!

we were outside blowing bubbles last night - our new nighttime activity outside! - and someone on the next street over set off one - scared him and he threw his head around to see what the noise was, but no crying. However, it was just one.... not sure how multiple ones would go. I'd probably try to get ear plugs though.
My mom wants us to take Libby to the big firework display down by the river, but I am not feeling it. They sell fireworks here and I am thinking I'll get a packet of sparklers that J can light up and Libby and I will "ohh and ahh" from a safe distance.
