Pretty much any cheese in the US or Canada is pasteurized so it's fine. I don't think most places can even legally sell unpasteurized, which is a bummer b.c it's good lol
I was specifically told ricotta is safe, which is good, because lasagna sounds AMAZING right now.
They did give me the whole lecture about unpasteurized cheese (like feta) but I really don't understand what women in other countries eat while they are pregnant.

even feta is fine. if it's sold in the US, it has to be pasteurized.

Not all cheese in the U.S. is pasteurized. Usually you can buy unpasteurized cheese where they sell raw milk and they must advertise it as unpasteurized.
Thanks for all the responses! I feel better now! lol. Is that the same for feta? I've avoided it but if it's ok to have then I am going to start eating it again b/c I miss it!

That makes me incredibly happy. I wonder why they told me "no"?

My guess is that because they always eat it their bodies are immune to the bacteria? Just a guess. I'm going to Eruope next month and was told specifically not to eat any cheese there. Paris with no cheese?
