tell me about your bathing time, do you use shampoo, body wash? do you interact with them while in the tub or is it quick in and out? Do you line the utb with a towel or use the sink? do you bath every night? thx ladies
We do bath time everyother night and put his bath tub in our sink. It's fairly quick, but he enjoys it, so we don't totally rush it. We use J&J sleep time all-over body wash. Then we lotion him up, feed him, and put him down for the night.

For the 1st week after her umbilical cord stump fell off, we only used warm water, no soap. After that, we used California Baby super sensitive shampoo and body wash every other day. Now we use it every day. We use The First Years infant tub and put a washcloth over her so she doesn't get too cold. As for the amt. of time, it varies. Sometimes she's fussy and wants to get out, other times she loves splashing around. We bathe every day - it's part of her nighttime ritual.

For the first couple of weeks, my son hated the tub and would scream the entire time so it was a quick in and out. Now, I can take my time but I pretty much clean him and then get him out. I have some organic body wash that I use all over (he doesn't have much hair). I typically bathe him every other day or every two days. I have a baby bath tub that I used with my dd and just bought a foam insert. I put it in the tub to bathe him.
We have a baby bath that we use by the sink and try and get him in every other night. We use the baby shampoo as our son has a lot of hair as well as the baby body wash. We usually have him in for about 10 mins and he usually just looks around and enjoys the warm water. I don' know if most babies enjoy their baths as much as he does. He didn't really even cry for his first bath so I may be just lucky that he is that easy to bathe.
DS has a bath every other night with J&J baby wash. We have a baby tub that we put in the kitchen sink. It's lined with a towel & we keep the water constantly running & don't let the tub fill up. DH & I tag team DS - I get the upper half & he gets the lower half. I sing to him what parts I'm cleaning. Bath time takes about 10 min, then DH dries him off, takes him upstairs & gets him dressed.
We do bath every other night, and sometimes if he is really hating it, we hurry. Otherwise we talk and linger for bath time. And we use his baby bath in the sink with Burts Bees wash/shampoo or if his baby acne is starting to show up again I will use his Weleda calendula shampoo/face wash.
We use Johnson's head to toe. We talk mostly to each other but we do talk while we are doing it. saying things like "Okay, now Daddy is going to wash your hair." or "Mommy is going to pick you up so Daddy can wash your bottom." Things like that. At this age it's just kind of in and out because she doesnt play in it yet. We use a little bath tub on the kitchen counter that drains into the sink. We don't have enough room in our bathroom to even try anything in there. We also got the tub for free so we have never done a bath in the sink except away from home. We are still on the 4 day schedule for bath days.
For the first month, LO hated the infant tub and only wanted to be sponge bathed, even after her umbilical cord fell off.
But by 5 or 6 weeks, she started loving her tub. It's the highlight of her day now! I bathe her every night around 8pm (soap/body wash on alternate days. We used Aquaphor because she has sensitive skin), put her in her Halo Sleep Sack, then nurse her to sleep.
I talk to her and splash her with water and she likes it. I line the tub with a hand towel and bring a washcloth with me too. I rinse her off with the shower head when I'm done so there's no soap residue on her.

We bathe DS every other night. We have an infant tub that we put in our guest room bath tub. We use Johnson & Johnson baby wash all over, including his hair. I talk to him and trickle water over him and stuff like that while he's in the tub because he loves the bath so much I figure we can extend it by playing a little bit. After his bath I massage him down with baby oil and then rub baby lotion all over him. This keeps him sooooo soft and he loves the massage.
We do it every night as part of her bedtime routine. For the most part she enjoys it so we don't rush TOO much, but once she starts getting fussy we hurry it along. We have a little tub that has an infant seat in it & we fill it so her feet are in the water. I wash with Johnson & Johnson's soothing bedtime wash while hubs holds on to her. Then we rinse with warm water - she LOVES this part! Then we dry her, lotion her up, brush her hair (ridiculous I know), feed her, and it's bedtime! I don't know if she's recognized it as a routine yet, but that's what we're working on. Good luck!
