I just completed a phone interview with a local milk bank! Next I fill out a paper questionnaire, then do the blood screen, and start giving away the goodness!
I have a huge supply, and when I pump I get much more than DS2 needs (because I am not gone for work very long, and he hates the bottle!). I let a TON of milk go to waste when I was BFing DS1, and still feel horrible about it. So I decided to officially donate this time around!
I have a decent freezer stash right now, but I don't think I can donate it because I have taken ibuprofen occasionally and don't know which bags have the 'ibupfrofen milk'. So we'll try to use that up at home and donate all the new milk.
I'm just so excited!!

That's wonderful!
I was curious about donating milk, but I'm sure I couldn't do it because of the medications I take (safe enough for my LO but probably not desirable for donation). If you don't mind my asking, are there other restrictions? Or do you just have to be generally healthy and drug/alcohol free?
This is where I found my bank and the requirements: https://www.hmbana.org/index/locations
And, the nearest bank to me is over 2 hours away, but they have several drop off locations within 30 minutes - so I'd check to see if your closest bank has other drop off locations!
Do you know what the blood screen looks for? I mean, I am assuming they want to make sure you are disease-free but do you know what might exclude you from donating?
I have about 400 oz. in my freezer and DS refuses to take a bottle so I am considering donating. I figure that if I need to be away from him I'll just leave freshly pumped milk and hope he drinks it!
Wonderful!
For those of you looking to donate, check out milkshare.com. I found a local mama to donate to without the long screening process.
