I am really worried and hoping that someone can help to put my mind at east. My doctor has been monitoring my beta's due to a prior miscarriage in September that happened at about 6 weeks. I was 33 then and I am now 34. I have been trying to get pregnant again ever since and I finally did. My HCG levels have been rising very well. Last week they were 5412 with my progesterone at 24.9 and this week they are 25,000 but my progesterone has dropped from 24.9 to 19. My doctor started me on progesterone supplements because of this. I am only about 5 weeks now and I am hoping someone on this board had a simliar experience and made it into the second trimester. When I look up normal pregesterone levels online 19 seems normal but the concern is the drop from 24.9 to 19 and whether or not the progesterone supplements will help. I appreciate anyone's comments or advice. Thank you for listening.
Re: Anyone on Progesterone the 1st Trimester and still doing okay?
I've made it to the third with a very healthy LO!
What type of supplements will you be using? I was on prometrium (oral). I know there are many ladies on this board who have had success with the supplements.
I had 3 losses, so my Dr. had me on prog supp. every cycle! When I got my BFP this time, I stayed on prog for the first 13 weeks. I was terrified to go off of them, but everything is still going fine!
Good luck!

My doctor just started me on 200MG of Prometrium oral yesterday. I am suppose to take one each evening at bedtime. It really makes me feel good to hear you are doing so well. Do you remember what your progesterone level was when you started your supplements and how much it raised it?
I am sorry to hear you have had 3 losses. I am glad this one is going so well for you. Thank you for responding it is so helpful to hear that I am not alone.

After 1 year of TTC#2 BFP May 2011 m/c #3 4w2d. Off to RE.
Round 1: Femara + Ovidrel +TI = BFP! EDD 2/20/12
2IF does not always equal 3IF...Surprise!
I had the same dose, except I took 100 in the am and 100 in the evening. I will warn you there are some brutal side effects! I was very nauseous and antsy throughout and that in combination with the first tri side effects made for a rough go- but well worth it! If you find the side effects are really bothersome, ask your dr about splitting up the dosage.
As far as my numbers I went on prometrium from the beginning of this pregnancy so I don't have numbers to compare it to. My first two losses never made it to blood work and my third started out with a level of 17 and then went down to 15. I did not have anymore draws after those two because everything was in the normal range.
GL!
Ditto exactly even the 3 losses:( I was on the progesterone suppositories with my 2nd and 3rd loss and this baby. They say that it does not prevent a mc if things are not going right but helps with a good pregnancy. GL to you!
I made it all the way to delivering a healthy baby girl after treatment for low progesterone during the first trimester. DD1 is now 2 years old and perfectly healthy. My levels fluctuated with that pregnancy so I was put on 200 mg two times a day after having started at 100 mg twice a day. I had lost two babies prior to her and the thought was that it was because of low progesterone.
With this pregnancy, my levels were even worse. I had a high of 30 and a low of 12. When I got the 12 I was already on 200 mg twice a day. My dose was increased to 200 mg three times a day and it seems to have worked. I am happily in my third trimester with another healthy little girl who likes to kick me a lot.
Your levels aren't bad at all. Progesterone fluctuates during the day and neither of your levels are low. It is good that your doctor is monitoring you - that's what saved my babies I believe.
A H&H 9 months to you!
I made it to the 2nd tri and hopefully to the 3rd! My progesterone actually dropped to 12 before I started taking prometrium orally. I had cramping from 5 weeks to 15 weeks and took the prometrium up until 15 weeks. Good luck and I am sending t&p's your way.
Your HCG levels are great too!
