Potty Training

Ladies, I wanna give up lol

It's day 2 and it sucks. Yesterday she was doing great although i would remind her, before bed she said pee pee and actually went. She even woke up with a dry diaper! But so far today, she wants nothing to do with the potty. She was right next to the potty and peed on the floor ugh!

Re: Ladies, I wanna give up lol

  • The actualy 3 day method did not really work for us.  My DD was getting sick of me reminding her and started to regress during day 2 as well.  On day 4 what I started doing was trackign when she was peeing / having and accident and found she could go 2-3 hours between peeing.  So I started scheduling potty breaks during her day.  We would also "try" before leaving the house and she would get a reward for trying.  She is wearing read underwear when home and when we go out she is wearing thicker cloth training pants.  Also, we are not doing nap/night time training...however she is not liking the pull-ups.

Just keep at it...it will click.

  • We tried the 3 day method after much prep and if you look down Day 1 went awesome. Day 2 and 3 brought many accidents, regression, and frustration. I was still doing pull ups for bedtime but not nap. So we back down and have been encouraging and reminding before leaving and when we first get somewhere as well as before bed and after her breakfast. She seems to be doing better slowly but surely. Don't give up! Try to do the full 3 days and if doesn't work then just rethink the approach for what will work best for DC. One important perspective that I got from reading Potty Training Boot Camp was why do you want your child PT. Is it for your convenience, pressure from friends etc, or because they want to do it. After reading that I decided I would back down and until she is closer to 3 (my personal goal to have her fully trained by 3) I am not going to worry as much as I have been. Good Luck!

She tells me when she pees, has dry naps, wakes up semi dry so i thought she would be ready. I'm off with her for he summer so i'll go slow. You're right i'm not in a rush. I'll just keep her in underwear when we are home thanks ; )
