I've said from the beginning that I didn't want LO born near a holiday because I've always sort of felt that those people get a little jipped when it comes to celebrating. But ever since Dr. said she didnt expect me to make it another week I've been positive he's probably going to arrive on July 4th and be a firecracker baby. Thats how my luck rolls.
At this point I just don't care any more as long as he's happy and healthy and here. Anybody else hoping for a firecracker baby this weekend?
Re: Anyone hoping for a July 4th baby?
DD#1 is a July 4th baby, and I love it! The great part about the holiday is that it's not a "gift" holiday, so you don't have to worry about LO getting a "twofer" gift. Also, I know that every year, I'll have off for her birthday and get to spend the whole day with her (until she chooses otherwise). And the fireworks on your birthday isn't a bad deal either!
My DH keeps saying that its DS's destiny to be a 4th of July baby. And that he will 'come out with sparklers in each hand and an Uncle Sam hat...and that might be pretty uncomfortable for you."
LOL. Thanks, DH.
I'm not ready to have a baby on the 4th - I want all you 38-40+ weekers to go before me!!! (not kidding!)
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
This is awesome. lol
This but replace her with him... Funny, the first thing I thought this morning is that LO will definitely be a July baby.

I want a July 4th baby so bad! It's my husband's favorite holiday, and we are expats currently living in England (obviously July 4th has no significance over here), so I think it'd be a cool nod to our true nationality. Plus, what kid wouldn't love fireworks on their birthday?
My birthday is July 2 and I've never felt slighted. In fact, when I was very little my dad had me convinced the fireworks were for my birthday.
As I got older, more years than not we ended up with a 3 day weekend which made scheduling my b-day party easier..Most people don't go out of town for the 4th, or if they do only for the day..unlike Christmas or Thanksgiving.. So my friends were still usually around for my parties...
The only issue I had was just generally being a summer baby inevitably one of your friends is on vacation the weekend of your party but that can't really be helped... And clearly it didn't bother me too much since I have all summer babies..
Originally I would have loved that! But now I'm hoping she holds off until the 8th for my scheduled c/s.
Me!! Kind of a silly reason but DS is a valentine's day baby, which i was determined NOT to have (he was a week early). everyone kept saying how fun it would be to have the baby on valentine's day and he was the first babe born at the hospital on the 14th that year!
so, since we already have one with a "kind of"holiday b-day i think it would be neat to have #2 on the 4th! i keep saying (just kidding around) sunday's the big day but of course it probably won't happen since i'm okay with it this time. I guess whenever he/she gets here isn't up to me anyway!!!!
agreed!
this is exactly why I want LO to be born on the 4th *fingers crossed*
