3rd Trimester

Any 40+ week mommas that haven't dropped yet?

I haven't dropped, haven't dialated, haven't lost my mucus plug, haven't had any signs of labor starting any time soon... I'm beginning to feel like there's no hope of labor starting on its own. Sad

  • I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and I'm in the same boat as you...
  • Loading the player...
  • I think I have dropped, a bit at least, but other than that no progress

no dilation, no mp, etc :(

  • Not 40 weeks yet, but definitely in the same boat. LO changes position so often the doctor has me scanned with the u/s machine at each visit to confirm where the heck he is!

  • I lost my mucus plug @ 41w1d, was finally 90% effaced, and was 1-2 cm at 41w2d.  Still waiting for labor.  I have until Sat PM (42 weeks) to birth at my birth center.  Then it's off to the hospital for an induction.  :(
  • Went to Dr today for 40 week appt and still no progress and he's actually HIGHER up than he was last week. So disappointing!

  • I'm not due until Tuesday, but I have zero signs of labor too.  I may have dropped a little, but don't know if I truly did or it's just me being hopeful.  No mp, no contractions other than BH, no bloody show or anything!  My midwife doesn't routinely do internal checks, but I have an app in the morning and might request one just so I have some piece of mind.

  • I am sure you've tried lots of things, but I seemed to drop quite a bit after walking A LOT. Like two miles per day did the trick and sitting solely on the birth ball and bouncing in the evenings.

Also, if you want to avoid being induced, look into homeopathic remedies, acupuncture/pressure, reflexology, massage, that sort of thing. My doula has been coming up with all kinds of ideas should I go beyond 40 weeks.

  • Yeah, I also walk 1-2 miles every day.  I don't have a birth ball, but I have been doing a lot of squats and other motions to help encourage baby to go down.  I'll look into the other remedies!
