OBNOXIOUS people- Share your vent!
I thought it might be fun to commiserate! LOL
I am 4 days overdue and the phone calls/text messages/FB comments are driving me NUTS!!! I get that I MAY be being oversensitive... I am hormonal AND pissed about being overdue.
I've gotten some of the most obnoxious comments the last few days tho:
"Any baby yet?" (Yes, I GAVE BIRTH and decided not to tell anyone!)"Hurry up and have that baby!"
"I feel like you've been pregnant forever!"
"You need to have the baby on this day because I have plans."
"When are you gonna pop?"
Try -insert OWT here-! It worked for my sister's, co-worker's, cousin's, landlord!"
"What are you waiting for?"
"Are you sure they got your EDD right?"
And the kicker: My cousin texts me to tell me her daughter got a first place softball trophy and she wants to know if I can "have the baby already" so she can take a picture with him and her trophy. I wouldn't be AS irritated with this one, except that ALL 4 of my cousin's kids were late and had to be induced... One would think she'd try to be a little more sensitive.
Seriously, are people not OBNOXIOUS!?!?!?!

Ugh. I think I've had my fair share of obnoxious over the past few days. Worst being a friend's husband saying that my hair is going to fall out after I have the baby, which will be hard because unlike his wife who has lovely thick hair, mine is "thinning" and I can't really afford to lose much.
Wow.
Also MIL going on and ON about how I have to book in a c-section as the baby is going to have a HUUUUGE head like all her children did is really making me piss steam

i actually got the comment "do you feel like an elephant yet"
how about the "you should have her on (insert day) because it's my birthday!" uhhh.. okay? as if i have any control over it.. or care to have my baby on YOUR birthday??
I'm so completely irritated by the the people (usually women) who laugh, roll their eyes and give me a sarcastic "good luck with that" reaction when I tell them I'm planning for a med-free birth. Really? That's what they think is an appropriate response?! I get so few positive responses when I share this piece of information - it's so frustrating. And I'm not out telling the world that these are my plans, I'm only mentioning it when it's pertinent to our conversation. UGH!
In response to me having a c-section I've gotten these comments. Makes me want to put my foot in their bum!
"but after 2 years a c-section is completely healed and you can't rupture anything" umm thanks, are you a Dr?
"It can be done. My wife had a breech baby, baby was black and blue for 3 weeks and my wife was swollen in her vaginal area but it can be done." TMI and yeah, that will really make me want to have a breech baby.

I'm right there with ya! I have two other kids, one born med-free, and so my retort is, "well, I've already done it once and it went really well." It's nice to see their jaws drop. And, I've come to embrace the "are you crazy?!" comments afterward.
I have also gotten this one by pretty much everyone from my mom, MIL, godmother, uncle's GF, and a ton of friends who have a birthday anywhere near my EDD... some time's i want to be like "yes i am going to try to have it on YOUR birthday... that way I know you'll be busy and I won't have to deal with you in my face while I'm giving birth. " lol.. the only person I'd want to share a b-day with my LO is my mom.. and that's it!
OMG!!! I forgot this one!
When I went past my EDD MIL was like "oh we have lots of brithdays to chose from in July!" I was like "Yeah... 31 of them." And she was like "nooooo... relative's birthday is on this day, and relatives birthday is on this day, etc, etc."
I'm being induced 7/5 and I hope it doesn't take as long as they are saying it will because one of those relative's birthdays was on the 6th. I hope it takes till the 7th just to spite her.
