Oh boy, you're going to have 3 under 1!! That's going to be a challenge, especially since you're getting a child that's going to be hitting a lot of mobility milestones over the next few months, and you might have a bit of a hard time keeping up!
There are a lot of things that people "should" know about having a baby, but could you narrow down your field a bit? What kind of things are you wanting to know, as in do you want to know about useful baby equipment, or do you want to know milestone development, or about separation anxiety issues.... there's a lot of info out there, but you need to narrow down what you're looking for.
If it makes you feel better, I think a lot of new moms are just winging it. He'll probaby be starting to move around a bit, so expect to be chasing him around soon. But remember to enjoy the moment and take time to just love him. When DS started moving around, I was just watching him and babyproofing. I realized I wasn't really spending time with him. Now I make sure to be part of what he's doing. Not all the time, but enough. I think he likes it. He's started to show me his toys and stuff. I love it.
Just anything you wish you knew then. I love kids and have been watching them since I was little. Sorry if it was vague. Mostly what is important around six months that I should make sure my baby boy is doing.
Well, every baby develops differently... but around 6 months, he *might* be learning to sit up, *might* be learning to crawl, *may* be able to roll both ways, should definitely respond to sound, should be starting to babble, if he hasn't started already, should be able to smile and laugh... keep in mind, the vocal ones might be a bit delayed, because the baby has to get used to his new life situation, first... might take a bit of time to adjust.
Likely he should be able to start solids, if he hasn't already - you'll have to watch for what he'll be able to eat, allergies, etc.
He'll need to be on formula, as you won't be producing milk yet (and considering you're carrying twins, I wouldn't necessarily recommend trying to breastfeed while pregnant.. takes a lot out of the body!), so you'll have to figure out what formula he can take - I don't imagine they have the same stuff in South Africa as they do here... so try to stick with something as close to what he's used to now. That's going to be a bit more difficult.
It's nice to have some toys on hand - lots of ladies and babies LOVE the Lamaze toys, so I'd start with a couple of those.
Also, get some infant types of tylonel, motrin, benadryl, mylicon drops and hyland's teething tablets to keep on hand. They will all come in handy at some point or another!! (ugh, that reminds me, I'm out of motrin and still need to get some benadryl... yeesh!) Gripe water is another one that can be handy.
Oh, also some nice things to have are: A lightweight stroller (you will need a triple stroller soon....), a baby carrier/sling may be useful in the beginning, especially if the boy is clingy during the "adjustment" period... an exersaucer/jumperoo (not necessary, but it really depends on the baby)... and a bunch of other stuff, but it all depends on how things go.

Sorry if that came across as biitchy. I just read my response and it sounds pretty snippy. That wasn't my intention.
At 6 months DD was sitting unassisted, army crawling, and just starting to pull herself up to stand. That being said, she just started crawling on all fours this week. Like everyone says, every child is different and will reach milestones in their own time.
You'll most likely be starting solids around this time (if he hasn't started them already).
We had no teeth until 7 months, so you may or may not have that to look forward to soon. I would recommend investing in Hyland's Teething Tablets.
Congratulations and good luck! If there's anything specific you'd like advice/opinions on, don't hesitate to ask!
