36 week appt.

I had my 36 week appt. today and had my first internal.  She said I was 1 cm and "very soft".  What does very soft mean.  You would think I would know since this is my 2nd but I never dialated or anything before I was induced with him...so progress for me is so exciting, even if it means nothing. :)

    LOL, Hell if I know, and I'm in the same boat as you!

    I had mine today too... I was so dehydrated that when he went in for the internal I was like, HEY!! OUCH! He said I was maybe a cm. : S

    It could have something to do with your cervix starting to efface? This is my best guess.

    it has to do with how "ripe" your cervix is.  Nothing to do with dilation or effacement.
