Fibroid Removal & Subsequent Pregnancy

Hi! This is my first week on the board & I was wondering if any of you have had a fibroid tumor surgically removed from your uterus and got pregnant afterwards. I had my tumor removed in November 09 and am currently 7 weeks pregnant. I have my first OB appointment next week and would like to know about your experiences with this. I was informed prior to my surgery that if I were to get pregnant, it would be considered high risk and that I would have to have a c-section due to the trauma to my uterus. Have any of you gone through this? How was your pregnancy? What restrictions were placed on you during pregnancy? Any and all info you would be willing to share with me would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again ladies!

I had an abdominal myomectomy in May 2009. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant.  I did do IVF as the surgery did leave scarring in my tubes.

I have not gone through an entire pregnancy yet, but I am aware that I will have to have a c-section.  I have been told that I am having a normal pregnancy and have no reason to see a high risk doctor and I had very EXTENSIVE surgery per my RE.

     Ask me questions anytime.

  • I had one removed in Feb 2010 and am now 6 weeks PG, I was undergoing fertility treatments and it showed up when they did the HSG, it was removed via D&C.  They haven't restricted me in anyway. I did meet with a high risk doc because of a previous surgery, I had excess skin removed and a tummy tuck after weight loss The high risk doc told me that there was no issue with we delivering naturally.
