Pretty much all the potty stuff clicked by the end of day 2, and we rarely have more than a damp spot (which the author claims is not a true accident).
But he still doesn't get poop. I'm tempted to just give up on that for awhile, and let him do it in his underwear. IF I catch him, he stops himself mid poop and won't finish on the potty, and I'm almost guaranteed a second poop within the hour. I almost prefer when he sneaks off and I don't catch it, because he gets it all done at once, and I have less poopy underwear to deal with.
I don't know what I'm missing besides the high fiber thing. I couldn't get him to eat that much extra fiber or poop extra during the 3 days, so the couple poops a day I guess were just not enough to teach him. Do I need to do another 3 days, cut all dairy and up his fruit to make him have a lot of poop accidents? That sounds frustrating, but I guess I could see merit similar to the potty accidents we had on day 1.
Re: Any other 3 day PTers having issues with poop still?
I am going through the same thing. I started PTing my DS on Saturday and by Sunday he was done with accidents. However, he will not poop on the potty at all. He is now holding it and seems to go every other day rather than every day like he used to.
I bought him a fire engine and told him that he could have it when he poops on the potty. We have only encouraged him and there hasn't been any disappointment or negative talk about what he has done. When you ask him where to poop, he says the potty. I think he is just scared. I remember this same thing happening with my nephew. He just pooped in his pants for months and then finally started going on the potty.
I really have no advice for you because I know that even if I were to increase fiber, DS would just poop during nap or nighttime in order to aviod the potty. Maybe try a present? Stickers? M&M's?
